There is so much to think of when you think of technology. Some people try to get the newest iPhone and are willing to stand in lines for hours or days to wait for it. Then there are the people that rather get away from technology and prefer to do things outside. I believe when there is a new technological device that is being talked about constantly, I am more of a late adopter of it. I am not the person that needs the new iPhone every time there is a new one released because I still have the iPhone 8+ and I like the home button. To be honest I am not even sure which iPhone is the most recent because why get something new if my Phone functions and does not irritate me. I do not consider myself to be obsessed with technology other than the fact that there are days I am on my phone a lot, but the only other devices I have is my mac book air computer, which I use for school, my Amazon fire stick, which I love because it is cheap and it gives you so many things to watch, whether it is streaming sport games, watching TV shows or movies, or more, and my AirPods, which I like because there is no wire and I find them easier to use then headphones.
In order for the Diffusion of Innovations theory to be possible, people have to adopt a certain technology, so other people do so and then it becomes popular. A new innovation that a lot of people have adopted is the social media app TikTok. Personally, I have never downloaded the app, but it is very popular especially to teenage girls. Some people believe it is a good way to express your emotions or a fun way to post videos of yourself, but other people like me do not see the point in another app especially if it is like Instagram, which I have and is the reason I do not have TikTok. I also do not have interest in posting TikTok's so I do not think there is any point in downloading the app just to watch them because I can also do that on Instagram.
I believe technology is great and I enjoy what I have, but with that being said I like what I have and feel that some new innovations are unnecessary and not worth buying or downloading.
